i never got a response on the previous thread.
i came up with an idea for custom paint after i originally started that topic, and decided i am best off if I do it all at once. the current dilemmas i am facing are A) I do not even know if my idea is possible B) It would cost a pretty penny, and since I have not replaced my wrecked daily driver yet, i dont know how much money i am going to have to put toward this.

the idea i have in mind is anondized red racing stripes. So instead of just the hood and front bumper, im looking at paint for the SS spoiler i dont have yet, and also stripes on the decklid.

conclusion: im still looking for a good paint shop that can do all that for a reasonable price, IE, not 50% what i bought the car for. However I will not be sacrificing quality over a few bucks. Odds are i wont be undertaking this until at least next spring because of my money situation. If it turns out to be too pricey, ill downsize back to my previous plans.

allright sounds good. first things first 1. what you are thinking about doing with the stripes is possible, althought it will take a special kind of paint. we mix all of our own paint so you could pick any color imaginable and we could do a sprayout card for you so you can see what the color will look like before you decide on doing it , therefore you will not be disapointed. 2. About the sacrificing qaulity over a few bucks comment..... That will definitley not be happenening , we have had SEVERAL of our works in autorama and other shows and have won awards. We could even bring in a few loyal customers to show you the work that we have done. Therefore you know what you will be buying and paying for.

yea, i meant that i wasnt going to cheap out and end up with something so-so. Everything I do to my car I do once and I do it right... or at least make every effort to. ive got a few questions then. about the paint... is the stuff you use a one coat blending, or would it require a layer of chrome paint beneath to give it the chrome effect? Ive done some anondizing with stuff under the hood, and the paint always required a shiny surface. Anyway, Im looking for a fairly pure chrome (or close to chrome) red, but dimmer and deeper than the typical victory red stripes you often see. Im sure ill be happy with something in your selection. Do you have stencils for 30th anniversary stripes or is that something i would have to take care of? Anyway the only other question i have for you, is would you allow me to watch? I know it doesnt happen all at the snap of finger lol, but ill take what i can get. I never plan to paint my own car or anything, but I pursue every opportunity i can get to learn something new, and possibly get some pictures for documention on the progress of the car.

If you can PM me a link to pictures of cars you have done, i would appreciate that. However, I stress that i am in NO HURRY whatsoever. thanks man.

off the painting topic... does anyone have an answer to my original question? if not, i think im just going to take a chance on it.
