thinking about doing this to my car. Just wondering a couple things: has anyone here done it before? ive never heard of them being illegal anywhere, but ive never actually seen a car with them around. i dont need another reason to get pulled over And lastly has anyone tried running LEDs in their tailights before, i read heat can be an issue doing this (plastic warping) and LEDs would solve that. The issue would be the dual stage brightness i believe.

Those are pretty cool, I wanted to do it to mine but it won't work cause my aftermarket taillights have a white signal in the center.

They almost can't be illegal, 'cause they were OE on T-birds for several years. I seem to recall they were standard on another car, but just can't remember.

It was first introduced on mercury cougars in the 60's. I think they look pretty cool on 93-96 camaros

All the fire trucks in Troy have sequential LED turn signals. I think they would look bad ass!

LED's give off probably 1/20th the heat that your light bulbs give off. That's one bonus to LED's. That and you can get them in so many colors.

I have Led bulbs in my tail lights, The only issue I had was brightness, But I found out that was because I used red LED bulbs ( Not intentionally, I thought they where white LED's) I guess red plastic reflects red light so It dimmer then normal. Theres a site that sells a really nice kit for sequencing, I'll see if I can find it...

                        Got it!

a little more expensive, but much nicer quality.

and a quick rant, WTF is with trying to find white LED bulbs? every place I go to has, RED, GREEN, BLUE but no damn WHITE in 3157 size! damn auto stores are bulbist.
The Chevy Camaro was built with a single purpose in mind which it executes flawlessly...Going very very fast in a straight line until your hair catches on fire.

You must be going to crappy places then. My place sells them. I bought a set like 3 days ago to run in my Grand Marquis cause a bulb burned out.

It looks like the Tbirds or Cougars had them from 1965-1973. The 1969 Chrysler Imperial had 'em. The first couple years used mechanical cams and relays.
