Interior Cleaning!

I have my cars in Texas & Oklahoma for most of my life, which the sun and the heat is a lot more extreme than Michigan. I've tried Megiuars before and it's okay, but my dad has a 26 year old Mercedes in Texas that doesn't have a cracked dash that has Armorall off and on. So I guess I have to see a mythbuster on the Armorall.

Armorall actually released a Ad in magazines ( I think it was in car&driver) that said the rumors about it causing dashes to crack was just that, a rumor.

For the hard plastic stuff, like our door panels I use this stuff we have at work called "trouble shooter" it's made by 3M. Its a mild floor stripper designed to get rid of waxy stuff. If you have lighter color door panel like I do ( tan ) it gets rid of all that nasty black stuff that gets stuck in the pebble texture plus all the other nasty marks that nothing else gets off, the best part is that most stuff will come out with a quick soak and wipe down, no heavy scrubbing.
Its a bubbling cleaner so if you get some just know that thats normal, its not your plastic melting or anything.

Meguiars has some real nice cleaner wipes that I started using last year. Has a bit of protectant in it so it cleans and protects. It doesn't add any shine to it. It just brings back the original matte finish. I used to like the super glossy Armor All or other similar product look back when I was in my teens. Then I got over it and prefer the matte finish as the pieces came from the factory.
As for leather, I bought some Eagle One cleaner and conditioner but have yet to use it as my seats still look like new after 4 1/2 years and I have never done anything to them but wipe them with a damp towel or starting last year, the Meguiars cleaner wipes.
I've been using Stoners glass cleaner and newspaper for probably 5 years or so. Prior to the Stoners I used Eagle One 20/20 glass cleaners. The Stoners is the better cleaner.
I won this killer carpet cleaner stuff at a car show but can't remember the name of it right now. I'll have to remember to look in the garage tomorrow to see what it's called. It has a minty smell to it.

I use turtle wax F2001, shit smells good and lasts a long time, windows i use only GM glass cleaner and the glass towels we use to wash cars and such, carpet i use turtle wax carpet/upholstery cleaner, worked wonders on my truck.

What i do first is use a damp rag and wipe everything then go over it with a dry one then i use Meguiers interier cleaner then the detailer. I no longer use Armor All like Chad said it dry's the surface out and can cause cracks. i havn't had a problem with what im' using but each of us has our own methods it all depends what your happy with.

Right now I use this stuff I get from Advance Auto. It smells like Watermelons.
But I agree with Brian, But 1st I vaccume, Then I wipe everything down, includding the door jams and the bottom of the doors. Then I go to town wiping and making everything shinny even the weather stripping, Last thing I do is the windows.
Im a detail guy, my 87 is usually spotless. I even get it up on the hoist every now and then to powerwash the underside. It might not be the best looking car out there but its mine and I do the best I can.

I do similar process as you Todd. Mine just looks like shit, so I try to make it look a tad better.
