    another cause is what you use to detail your interier i have found that some products i tried actually caused it to dry up instead of kepping it moist and lookinng new sinlight is a big factor too because the heat gets so hot is also dry's up the surface. i say try not to have it in direct sunlight and read your labels in your clening and detailing products. hope this helped out.

        mine isn't doing it, but i've seen that in other cars as well, my sisters first car was an 2000 or so cavalier Z24, after like 1 summer the dash pad had a perfect strait crack all the way up it.

        weather/sun exposure is a big reason, armorall is another, armorall on interior is the worst thing you can do...along with some other products like B.A.Camaro said....

        this is another reason why i tint all my windows including the windshield. Tint blocks a ton of harmful uv rays...

                  armorall has a horrible rep for what it WAS. Not what it IS. In the early formulas, it had dried up plastic and caused them to crack. Due to this, Armor All changed their formula to include oils that keep the plastic from drying up. Today's Armor All is harmless to plastic.

                      well its not weather or age because mine is over 100k miles and its always been a MI car and i don't have that problem.
