  • Pics of aftermarket tachs mounted on A-Pillar

Hi all, I'd like to install an aftermarket 5" tach w/shiftlight.. Has anyone else installed one on your A-Pillar(4th Gen)? I'd like to see some pics to make sure I'll like it before I spend the $$$ on a tach..

    Thanks, Larry

I think they look kinda out of place unless your interior has a drag strip theme. I'm kinda curious if anyone has a clean install too. The stock one is in a bad spot. I know for a fact that I'm getting a shift light at the very least.

I have a shift light mounted on the A-Pillar right now.. Like you, I don't like where the factory tach is.. Just a thought, if I come across any pics I'll post them.. I've seen them dash mounted above the vents but I'm not screwing up my dash for a tach..

Larry, don't do it if you want your car to be a street car and look clean at all. A 5" tach is nice if its a strip car but looks so ugly. Ever think about making it a quick disconnect tach so it doesnt look ghetto all the time?

Yeah, just something been thinking about.. I just can't imagine it looking "in place".. Maybe someday if I ever covert it to a drag car.. Thanks!
