Beauty cover and carbon fiber

I'm not sure why anyone hasn't made anyone but I couldn't find any pictures of anyone doing one so here's my starting point. I'm still messaging and cutting here and there to get it to fit right. The hood does close without disturbing the cardboard cover.

The first cover I plan to make will be out of fiberglass to make sure it's going to work correctly.

That will look great! Are you going to vacuum bag it? If its all a flat piece, bagging it on something nice and flat would be easiest and make it come out looking better.

It won't be flat because of the sections of my SS hood dips down into that area. So I don't think the vacuum bag method will work.

Should force more air through radiator too. Should keep engine cooler too. Good luck with it.

Thanks thats not a bad cover at all. I'll have to look at making mine flatter like that. I planned to mold mine closer to the shape of the bottom side of the hood. But it will make it a lot easier having it more flat.

I decided to use fleece that I soaked in fiberglass resin to create the form I wanted. The next step I will take is sand and trim it smooth and paint it black prior to covering it in the carbon fiber.
