Raise the top up is what I meant, you're an engineer - figure it out. I can draw some pretty pictures if you need me to.

Fred, I'm good but not that good, plus there isn't any real benefit that would be a huge time sink for little gain.
Oh and i'm a designer not an engineer.

Another night of fabrication. This is going to be a long process, but with the little things i'm doing I think its going to look like what GM should have designed the interior.

Any ideas where the cig lighter should go? I am thinking of 1) adding a 2nd one maybe in the glove box. 2) moving the stocker to another location maybe center console 3) hiding the stocker and adding a 2nd one for shits in grins. What to do. Also, will probably pre-wire for a future radar detector by the rear view mirror. ITS THE LITTLE THINGS!
Oh and any ideas for the trunk button location?
Also, thinking of relocating the fog light switch just not sure where?

The rear cupholders are a pain in the ass! By the way could gm add anymore plastic welds to the door panels? Could have made the inserts of better material and saved a weld or 10. Fabric is ordered and all the fab work is almost ready, just need to figure out the cup holders.

So I know I said i'd be starting a thread and showing all my pictures and how to wrap the pieces but after letting a bunch of the pieces set out in the car on a 90+ day the glue has let loose on almost every panel. I had good adhesion to the plastic and to the fabric, it looks like the glue simply let loose. And before someone says I used the wrong glue it was rated for 250°. Not sure what happened and really really disappointed with how it turned out but needless to say I most likely will not try again and just take the loss and keep the interior gray. It was looking so promising and then it falls apart right when the end is near!

Bummer dude! I wonder what the OEMs use to adhere the material to the dash?- Brian Meissen

i think at my old work we used k kwik or something it was basically material safe construction adhesive or something. never really read the label but once it dried you better hope to god you did the job right.91 Trans am, 305, Lt1 cam, 24lb injectors, headers, SLP LM2, SW chassis, massive panhard, lowered, modded TPI, Tuned, 4.10s, Lincoln locked

I thought the best stuff to use was Landau top adhesive. I've heard if you use it like contact cement that stuff isn't coming apart for anything.

Meissen the adhesive they use I believe us simple folk can't get. That airbag piece adhesive was ridiculous to break free! The Landau is about the top of the line as far as I know. There is some 3M glue that I here is good/ok. But I went with the landau adhesive and she still let loose. I let it cure for over a week in my garage, out of direct sunlight which is what the spec sheet said to do. Had good hold on both plastic and fabric as far as i can tell, which makes me think its definitely the glue. Worst part of this is I could warm it up and pull the fabric off but there is basically no way to reuse that material. I already burned though a lot of the material I had and i'm not real sure if I want to try again after finding out this adhesive isn't working, which i thought was some of the best stuff you could buy. Frustrating to say the least.Last edited by GOR1LA; June 24th, 2013, 09:37 PM.

liquid nails and k kwik makes an adhesive we use. if its in your garage and your garage is hot and damp or theres any humidity in the air it will break the bond of the glue as it tries to set itself up.91 Trans am, 305, Lt1 cam, 24lb injectors, headers, SLP LM2, SW chassis, massive panhard, lowered, modded TPI, Tuned, 4.10s, Lincoln locked
