  • door panel cracks

I have been searching 1st through 4th generation firebirds in Michigan and Arizona now that I am back here for the winter. I am amazed how otherwise great looking cars have the "dreaded doorcrack". Is there anything that can be done to prevent the cracks from occurring if the door has so far survived without a crack?
I was interested in a T/A in Sedona that seemed to fit except the DOOR CRACK. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ram-A...item25759cbe09

I have heard of ways to repair door and dash cracks but have never seen any that were acceptable. Any help here? Thanks

I have recently seen an amazing repair on a dash...i will try and find it again and post the link.. it involves spray foam, sem sealer, and a special dash texture spray. The dash that was repaired looked like brand new when finished. I think it was a about 60 bucks in materials...

Idk of any prevtative ways other than not rolling your window up or down. I fixed mine with some JB weld on the backside to keep it from spreading and you can't even see the crack now unless you're really looking for it!

I would get some plastic strips and jb weld them horizontally to the backside of the area that typically cracks to reinforce it.
