or I would've had them redo mine. I guess I'll have to do it again, did it last time and its last 15 years so I can't complain.

Most tint guys wont do third gens! The guy that did mine charged me $180. He said that if he would have remembered how much of a pain the back window was he would have charged more. It took him almost two hours to do the hatch.

Great thats going to help me out a lot in my search. Although I have some scratches in my windows so I am sure tinting them will only make them look bad...

Chargers are fairly easy to tint, I'm sure I can beat most other places price on that particular car.

Mine weren't the greatest either. They didn't turn out bad though. He scraped the rear de-fogger off of mine. You will have to check them out. I'm going to have him tint my girlfriends car in the next week or so. If you want I can get you a quote.

Why did he scrap the defogger off? The defogger is the only reason you can't see my hatch was done in 2 pieces. I trimmed along the defogger line. You really have to look close at the inside of the glass to see it. I think the worst spot to tint is the bottom of the hatch. It took me a while with a heat gun and a couple of trys to get it to lay down with out and bubbles or wrinkles. So I know 1st hand why many shops won't tint 3rd gens, they are a pain in the

The glass itself on a third gen is not hard to shrink or lay. It's the fact that the ones with a defrost have that shitty looking wire soldered on the glass from top to bottom on either side. Generally the solder clumps are over hanging on the glass and this creates a problem for cutting out the film to look good for one and a pain to lay because it throws a bunch of dirt In the film. Then there's like an inch or so of glass on the outside of the defrost line to the edge.

No matter what they always come out looking ehh at best do I just rather not have the head ache for a ehh job. Plus the first person that sees it that "thinks they know" anything about tint will pick it apart and be like "oh wow where did you get this tinted? It looks like doo doo" and then yea....

I don't do third gens lol

He scraped it all off so he could do it all in one piece. Except the spot for the third brake light, that was separate. Mine looks better than almost every one I have seen. The glass did get scratched in spots when we scraped the defogger stuff off though. Its not perfect, but anyone that knows tint knows that its almost impossible to get it perfect.
