  • Dyeing (painting) interior panels.

Got a couple of plastic interior panels that have faded, probably from the sun. Anybody know someone who can match colors and recoat these?

You could try using a heat gun all over on low setting, I've heard that restores interior plastics rather well. I think Joel did it?

The color is almost totally washed out. They need to be dyed.

SEM color coat paint. I've had much better luck with the stuff loaded in a traditional spray gun vs. the aerosol.

Here's a video that shows the process. I've used it before by just very thoroughly cleaning with high percentage (90+%) isopropyl alcohol and it turned out really well and has held up to some abuse, but that said in the future I would use their recommended prep procedures/products to be 100% sure of the end result. You can buy this stuff at places like Painter's Supply and they'll get you everything you need and help you with any questions you may have.

Any good bodyshop should be able to do this, but I'm sure some will be more willing than others.

I will second that. Sem makes great stuff! I used their bumper and trim paint on my iroc.
