What to use to strip paint from engine block/heads?

I gotta strip some paint......





Any recomendations on a paint stripper, or possibly a how to?

I have never attempted this, and if there are any do's and don'ts or tricks to the trade, I am all ears.

I was told the block was painted "Gold". Not exactly what I expected! LOL!!!!

What are you trying to accomplish?

I would degrease it, powerwash, prime and paint.

I want the yellow paint gone before I repaint the engine. The yellow (on top of being ugly) is chipping and falling off.

I think I need the old paint gone before I prime and repaint. Pretty sure any paint I lay on top of the old will just flake with the old paint.

I want to do it right the first time and have it last a while.

I stripped some old grand prix wheels a little while ago, nothing else would even touch that paint.
