if you want paint to stick to plastic, sand it with some mild sandpaper (not heavy, not fine) so that the paint has a texture to adhere to. as far as special paints go, ive never used any.Originally posted by Keego RidahI was j/w if anybody had any suggestions for me for a good paint for plastic? yeah kyrlon works pretty well on plastic little pricey but not bad for the results and no prep needed.. what color are you looking for? we have tons of plastic specific paint at my shop from dupont and a few other big companies, the stuff was desinged for plastic manufacturing, probably 50% of the plastic in your car that is viewable these days acctually has a thin layer of paint on it to cover any blemishes and to make sure it has a uniform color...Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. But it's not exactly street legal, so keep it on the down low.

Krylon Fusion works great, or if you want to make it look semi-stock, you can use a product called SEM. It's a two-step process, if I remember correctly, but it basically opens the pores in the plastic, and then the "paint" stains into the plastic and dyes it so that it won't rub off.- Brian Meissen

SEM is what is used in body shops and when many of the products are made, the krylon is ok, but I have seen a few parts start to peel (it's still krylon which is the pinto of paints) duplicolor also makes a decent product

Look into vinyl dye possibly, a lot of people do computer cases and such with it. It works with plastic in the way that it penetrates the surface and stains it. Won't come off or chip or anything like that.
