Hey Guys, I have a excellent condition tan carpet I bought a while back that I plan to dye black for my interior conversion project. I currently have two small bottles of Rit dye I bought (not sure how much I will need honestly) and have been looking up methods of dying.
Iv'e seen two methods so far which is working it in by hand over several coats or buying a crap load of dye, salt and tossing the whole shebang into a trashcan with some hotwater and leaving it alone for like two weeks.
So far the trashcan method seems to deliver better results, but I wanted to see if anyone else has done carpet dying before and had any tips.
On the flip side if someone needs a new tan carpet wants to offer me say..$100 bucks for it before I dye it, I could just put that towards ordering a new black carpet
