<Poll> Opinions on Ground EFX

While I am painting my car, I figured now would be a good time to change out my ground-efx. But now that I am starting to think about it, I am having a tough time deciding which way I want to go. To give an idea of where I am trying to go with the car, I am goint with this hood:

and I going to go with this wing extension, but I am going to try and graft it into the original wing


A: Keep the formula bumpers

B: T/A Bumpers and Skirts

C: Wings west GFX (which I would try to graft onto the original bumpers)


D: Mix of the B & C
This would consist of (all with T/A sideskirts)
1: T/A Front with WW Rear
2: WW Front with T/A Rear

I'll have to look at this sober, too many choices.. I definitely did not like the wing extender...

I vote for a "stock" look on birds... Its really as good as it gets IMO. Aftermarket GFX on birds look like ass.

I had similar ideas, but decided against Wings West. I didn't really like how it looked like extra pieces just added on. Would've been different if they would use the same design, but incorperate them in bumper cover replacements. I also decided not to go with a full T/A look, since the car would loose it's identity. I finally decided that I am going to get the T/A hatch, rear bumper cover & side skirts. I think this combination would look good, but still keep it a Formula.

Formula bumper won't look right with the TA skirts because they're a bit closer to the ground (seems like it at least)...on an LT1 car. Think it would look great with a TA hatch and ram air hood. Just keep it clean.

Don't like the WW kit other than the bumper kinda because the rest of it doesn't flow with the lines of the car at all.

The Trans Am look is just too good to pass up.

Do NOT put Trans Am on it though, put Formula on it.

My vote would either keep it the way it is but add a t/a hatch...or make it look like a t/a...but im also with Larry that wing extension is hideous imo



And personaly i think this 98+ formula valence is pretty sweet!

Did they ever make a W68-style body add on in the earlier years? Like the one on the Lingenfelter Hurst Firebird?

That Hurst is mint right there. I definitely wouldn't do the wing extender, just do the gfx and hood.

I would rather lower the car verse having it sit high and scrap driveways.
KISS (Keep it simple stupid) Ground effect store dirt and crud and MOST aftermarket panels fit like chit and are not worth the trouble or weight.

I like the trans am hatch idea and keep everything else stock

lower it and put some dished 17s on, no GFX.

Thanks for all the opinions guys. You talked me off the edge on efx. I am just trying to think of something more unique that not a lot of people have done. I think I am in the minority in this, but i do not like the T/A hatch, don't know why. Just to throw out another idea, what about just a t/a rear bumper? Something like this, but I have another idea for the "CETA" mod.
