I've had about a 6" crack at the top of my windshield since I've bought it, but today I get in it and it grew another 6" and as I drove it went all the way to the bottom. So now I need a new 1 and I was wondering if anyone know any good places around Port Huron. I called a few places today and got some quotes. I'm mostly looking for Dave's input becuse he seems to know alot of ppl around here. Some places I called are listed below. The prices include instailtion and new molding.

    -A Plus Auto Glass - $145
    -Eddie's Auto Glass - $179
    -Port Huron Glass - $220
-Dr. Chips Windshield Repair - waiting for callback

the only ones ive used in town is eddies and henderson... henderson is expensive but will do it for free if you have windshield insurance... thats why i used them they pay the deductable... eddies does great work but a windshield is a windshield most garantee the work for as long as you own the car, so aslong as it doesnt look like they are going out of buisness soon you should be alright. thats not bad prices for install though do you have to buy the glass yourself for it?

From what I got from them. It includes everything. I hope atleast. I'm not sure what they mean by new molding though. I still have to call my insurance and see how much they will charge me and if it'll raise my cost. My sister has a crack on her Caravan and they told her $500, but her husbands brother got told $50 for some car. So I dunno.

well if you have comp. insurance or even windshield insurance go to henderson they are the only one in town that pays the deductable... ive never seen any car even something as popular as a 3rd gen cost that little the glass alone usually is 2-3 hundred bucks unless its from a junkyard the molding is the rubber strip on the outside of the glass between the glass and the metal... when i went to henderson i didnt pay a dime but they gave me the bill which was about 900 bucks they paid 500 and 400 charged to the insurance... im sure it didnt cost that much to do but they just overcharged the insurance to cover what they picked up... but if your insurance covers your windshield at all take it to them they will take care of everything even talking to the insurance company. if not i can get the glass pretty cheep for ya and im sure most places in town will install it pretty cheep ive done a couple windshields before its really not that hard i just hate handling the glass one drop and you need a new one...lol rahter put that on the companys head.

Alright thanx Dave. That's y I wanted your input. I'll call my insurance tomorrow and I'll call the glass places and see how much it is including the glass. I also thought that's what the molding was.

Got the new windshield in today. $179 out the door. The highly recomend this guy, he does just about anything. Truck shit, tint, stereo's, t-tops and sun roofs, etc... He let's you in the back with him and I even helped him put in the new windshield. He said he's been doing this kind of shit since 83 and use to work down in Detroit. Said he's done alot of celeb rides. They quoted me $79 to get my rear hatch tinted. So once I replace the lock getting some tint. Then I'm gonna order a rear hatch box from him for like $80 I think it was. Give him a call at (810)982-7405. Scott's Plus Auto Glass. He also loves f-bodies and use to own a few he told me.
