When I got pulled over for having 5% on doors and hatch it was just a fix it ticket. I always figured that I wouldn't get pulled over for just the tint, but would get slapped with it on top of something else, boy was I wrong. Good thing me and a friend did it so I wasn't out that much money.

looks awesome! Nice job! I have 20% all around on my vette and want to do 50% on the shield now that I have HIDs but my normal tint guy said it would be too tough due to the angle without removing the shield... grrr. Maybe I'll find someone else who can do it. I dig it.sigpic

Well today I noticed it's not as dark as in the pics. I guess cuz the tint was still fresh at the time. It lightened up a bit and you can actually tell if someone is in the car even with the t-top shades on. Not like last night when I stopped at this gas station and this kid was staring really hard into the windshield and I opened the door and he looked like he saw a ghost lol

You might come around the same price range as what I paid depending on which type of film you get. I bought the carbon version, which has no metal whatsoever. For the regular tint it would've cost me $150 (windshield +doors). I tossed the idea of redoing the rear hatch and he was only going to add $65 to remove the old tint AND retint it! I'd recommend 20% on the windows and hatch If you have the shades in the t-tops and ebony interior. That will be very nice looking from outside without crippling your vision at night like if you went with a darker tint. If you don't have shades for the t-tops I'd go with 15% hatch, 20% front windows.Last edited by GoHard; August 17th, 2010, 06:02 PM.

They are a removable shade that came factory, much like how a car with a sunroof has a shade that slides open.

So if you don't have them then you might want to go darker on the tint because the light is coming in through the tops. With the shades you completely block out any light so even a high % tint can still be dark. I have the shades on mines so the tint looks darker than what it is, when I take off the shades it lets in just the right amount light too.Last edited by GoHard; August 17th, 2010, 08:35 PM.

Good luck with any tint you put on it other than the hatch. It is indeed a fix it ticket and unless you know a police officer cool enough to take the risk himself and sign off on it, you will have to remove it. I was pulled over for having 20% on my side windows of my silverado. I kept it on but like a dummy, it escalated to over $600 in fines before it was over.
If you do proceed with the tint, call Auto Ameristar in Westland on Ford Rd. They have tinted all my vehicles dating back to 1999. They do a great job and warranty all their work with no gripes.sigpic
