  • Finally decided on a color for my Firebird

Well I have finally settled on the actual color of the car, but now I need to find the paint chips to compare so I can decide on shade..

I am going to paint it purple, always wanted a purple car and love the color.

SO where can I find online paint chips for all the S-series trucks and Fbodies purples ?

I was really set on painting it black and orange, but then seen a locally pimped out Caprice w/24s and said I can't do it.. Cause i NEED to be different..

Purple Haze from 1992 is a pretty cool color, too. Looks great with silver stripes.

The LT1 era purple is different from the LS1 era purple.

Yes to all the above except custom blend. It's a stock GM color - Cyclamen - but Cyclamen wasn't used on LT1 'Birds. LT1 'Birds got Medium Purple Metallic. While it is VERY similar it is a shade lighter. Then again - maybe the shade difference is just the "wear" of the stock paint vs new paint.

I used a combination of this and PPG paint books dating back to 1995...http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorlibrary/

There is a Ford color that they used on the flareside and ford splash rangers back in the 90s that is very attractive. Ultra Violet Poly Maybe? It gives you a nice blue purple.

Crappy Pic but you get the idea...

Holy Crap you're right B! That does look like the same exact spot. However your car is much more presentable.

could be the same place but farther down the hill or something...brians picture has telephone wires in the background and the ranger has big pines in the background.
