removing powder coating question.

Yea, it will have to sandblasted off. Its not easy!

Blast it, sand, glass, walnut whatever. It is Tuff Stuff! Dont bother trying to sand it off.

Glass or walnut shells will barly hurt the powerdercoat.

I would use aluminum oxide or an agressive sand.

Tis true, still probably better than sandpaper though. You can get an 80# bag of fine quickcrete blasting sand here in flint from Fergusons block for $7. Thats what I use, did a whole car(my jeep) as well as some small parts and even my 10 spokes.

VERY VERY tough stuff.

I powdercoat some stuff here and there and taking it off is annoying.

Sandblast is you best bet.

Isn't that Silika sand? That stuff is very bad for you. I hate sandblasting stuff outside.

i soaked my intake in air craft stripper for 3 days then took it to a car wash with the power washer and it came pretty clean...

I dont think that stuff works on powder coating. To my knowledge paintstripper works by eating into the paint and restarting the chemical reaction that allowed the paint to dry thus making the under layers fall apart and the paint come off.

Powerdercoat is a powderlike substance, there is no chemical reaction, its baked to where it liquidizes slightly and then hardens when it cools.

I could be TOTALLY wrong, and it may work like a charm, but I dont think so.

That shit is just crushed glass, hell no I wouldn't ever spray it.

Works better than anything ive ever used for leaving a smoother surface as well as taking stuff off. We have commercial grade stuff here at work "black beauty" is what its called, rougher than hell, I did the air cleaner off of my CJ with it and it was actually eating holes in the metal.... Way to rough.
