  • Know of any local vinyl/stripes shops?

I just bought a WS6 hood and am looking to put some blackbird stripes on it...problem is no one makes them for the LT1 hood so they're a custom job. I don't even know what to search in the yellowpages to find a "vinyl shop," can anybody recommend some places in the area?

Here's a photoshop to illustrate the stripes:

that would acctually be really easy to do on your own... really the only hard part would be cutting out the lettering in front... which with some good stencils would look fine.. there is a guy up here that does vinyl and tint could pull that off easy... but that would be a drive just for stripes... check online thats where alot of guys advertise for that stuff anyway...

I think you should just paint them on. Vinyls will wear and eventually peel. Paint holds up to the elements much better, IMO.

ya but vinyls are cheep to replace and if you dont like the final look peel right off... so they both have there bennefits... most vinyls these days will last if not outlast the life of your vehical... ive seen alot of rust held together by the vinyl above it...

How true. . . I have seen too many cars that are held together by bumper stickers and road tar. . . lol

It's really an issue of cost...the labor spent masking and making both stripes symmetric with painting would definitely exceed the cost of doing the same with vinyl.

Yea, i think they will last a real long time without pealing or coming off, my ram air hood decals are just the way when i bought them. I know your a member on ls1tech... contact one of the sponsors over there and ask if they could make you a set, i'm sure they'd know what to do.

Talking about Brent Franker? The problem is...he'd need the hood to make set. Well anybody would for that matter. And to have it shipped twice, once to the vinyl place then to me, is quite expensive
