  • powder coating or paint ????

hey havent been on here in quite a while with school and work, but I had to get rid of the Camaro and i purchased a silver 04 GTO i love the car it looks great and drives great, but the only thing i am not a big fan of are the wheels. I would prefer to keep the original wheels on the car so i am going to paint them or powder coat them a gun metal or black, just looking for some suggestions on what color and should i go paint or powder coat. which on is cheaper and is there anybody who knows a good place to go to??? thank you

Painting them is going to be cheaper but shouldn't be an option IMO take them to get powder coated.

paint would be cheaper and more readily available, powder would last longer and be more resilient towards damage. plus, paint you could do yourself, not everyone has an industrial oven big enough for wheels.

Powder coating will last longer and be harder to scratch.

ill post them as soon as i get some time to actually wash my car and take pics. i have had the car for over 3 weeks and have washed it once i have been so busy.. so i'm probably going to go with powder coating... just not sure if i should do gunmetal or more of a black

Powder coating for the win. I had luck with qc coatings out near you. Ill look up the number for ya. Tell them its your daily driver. They had my wheels done in a day and a half.

QC coatings did my valvecovers and they are walking distance from my Dad's shop, I would definatly recommend them. They did take a while to do them but if you were to schedule it early enough I'm sure you could get the wheels done fairly quickly.

I had 16 inch iroc wheels on my s10 powder coated gloss black and they turned out great. They only charged me 50 a wheel.

My buddy got his 17" Cobra wheels done at Exotic Coatings down river area (i think), 300 for all 4 which included them stripping off the Chrome.

                          Hope that helps.
