  • Need rims polished in michigan!

I am thinking of getting my rims polished and need a place in detroit to do them. I heard it;s like 115 per wheel. Anybody know of a shop that can do this? Thanks

Weldcraft Wheels, in Pontiac i believe. I know they specialize in widening wheels. I know they dont chrome plate or powdercoat but you could e-mai lthem and see if they polish, they probably do as they also offer cleaning up your wheels to make them look new again.

if you just want to polish you stock wheels, i suggest you do this. (that's if you have the stock "polished aluminum" wheels) because they are polished then clear coated stock...you can metal polish all you want, but it's not doin anything to the clear coat on them...strip the clear coat off and then polish the bare aluminum wheels...there's a really good write up on it on LS1tech that some guy did..i'll try to find the thread and post a link

Sorry Matt I think he is trying to get his painted rims polished since he hasn't found different rims yet.

You guys think the salad shooters on my car would look better if I were to sand and polish them, or do you think they look better black?

I used these guys a couple weeks ago...they really turned out nice.

They can widen, polish, powdercoat and restore.

They charged me $150 a wheel to strip the old paint off, powdercoat to the correct GM color spec, machine off areas of what was supposed to be exposed aluminum, and spray a powder clear over the whole thing.

                  Took them 5 days.

And they pick them up from you and drop them back off.
