I went down to all speed performance the other days because i want to put t-tops in my car. They told me it would be about $75 a hour. So i was wonding if anyone knew how many hours you have to put into installing t-tops, or a price im looking at to buy the t-tops and have them installed.

its a lot more than just "buying Ttops" you need new headliners weatherstripping and the plastic pieces it bolts into. I usually see complete "ttop swap" kits selling on forums for like 200 if I recall? These are used of course and are removed when people wreck their cars. People do it themselves all the time but thats only if you are comfortable cutting your car yourself. A member on here that goes by the screen name CHMLEON did this to his car last year? He would be the best one to contact. I really can't imagine payin a shop to do the work, but thats your call.Originally posted by jtk821 View PostI went down to all speed performance the other days because i want to put t-tops in my car. I did the t-top conversion in my 94 camaro and it took me and my dad two day and you could never tell the difference between it and a car that came with t-top. I got all the stuff to do my conversion for $300. I also have all the to do the conversion but the headliner need a little bit of repair and i would sell it for $200Last edited by turnerracing; May 13th, 2009, 09:19 PM.

I haven't done one yet, but been thinking about doing it on both one of my 2nd gen and 3rd gens and have been doing a bunch of research on it. Doesn't seem all that hard. Well, if you're competent with (and have) a MIG and can do body/paint work. 1.5/ 2 days seems like a realistic amount of time for the total job including paint. The easiest and IMO the best way seems to be to swap entire roofs from the seam lines on the pillars/ 1/4's. You can usually find somebody selling a complete roof from a scraper for $150-500. $75 per hour seems a little high for a body shop though. $60-65 is probably a little closer if you do some shopping. I'd estimate around $1,000 to have a shop change roofs and do the paint work (if you have nice paint already on the car) as long as you bring the entire roof and all the parts for the swap.

We have a T top top off a 3rd gen if anyone wants to come pick it up. I'll let it go pretty cheap. Includes the top, glass, headliner. (its red, black headliner that was just recovered a few years ago.)sigpic
