Yeah, they do make it look cheap. My moldings are fading on the top, they look like garbage.Originally posted by greenmachinesweet, looks good. i personaly hate the looks of the side moldings. makes the doors look cheap imo. i dont think my car came with them, they wernt on there when i got it anyway

its easy to do with fishing line or dental floss.
I personally dont think a car looks better or worse with or without them, so im leaving mine on for the sake of it protecting my door.-Joel

Mine are coming off the next day the sun comes out and I don't have work. Is goo gone safe on paint?
Comment

Yeah goo gone should work just fine. Wish I could take mine off but my driver side door was repainted and I dunno if the left it on or not and don't wanna find out the hard way.Doing less with more

mine has saved my paint from my own stupidity once when i was pulling out of the garage with the door open...as i was pulling out the door swung out farther and hit it, so it saved me there.Originally posted by redfbirdv6yea but do they really even do anything for your door? i know on my door they are too low to even do anything lol.-Joel

I joined the club
I noticed how loose they were in the heat today and couldnt resist
. Had both sides off in 10-15 minutes and removed the clue in 15-20 minutes
. Followed by a quick wash =
WOW
. VERY SMOOTH. Now I think I'm going to remove the TransAm letters and order a set of polished stainless replacements. Along with Polished Pontiac inserts for the rear.

x2 to Travis's comments. I did mine during the winter, sucked ass. Sat there with a heat gun heating it up but having to be careful not to heat the paint too much.- Brian Meissen

I just took off the side molding on mine yesterday. A hair dryer and sore thumbs was all it took. I can't believe the paint underneath is the same color as the rest of the door, my T/A has 145k miles and obviously is red, one of the worst colors for fading. Anyway, looks sweet on black, transampimp!
