  • Sneak Peak at Sub Project for Interior

Can you tell what was being test fitted? It'll be drastically shorter when I do some trim work, but I was just test fitting to see if everything fit smoothly.

Damn that has got to be the longest shifter i have ever seen in a F-body. Do you bust your hand on the dash when you shift that thing.

lol keyphrase was on the "It'll be drastically shorter when I do some trim work" part, lol. Nick's right, it's an automatic to manual shiftknob adapter. It sits ontop of the automatic shaft and stick, and you push the whole knob & adapter down which then allows you to shift. Only bad part is the fact that it adds that good 6 inches or so to the height. I'm going to take a dremel to the automatic shaft and cut atleast two inches off from it, probably more, so it's shorter. I'm going to cut it down so it's as short as possible without losing functionality.

I was referring to park and reverse.

it just barely clears the screen, but my biggest concern is that I rest my arm on the console and then grip the shifter as I drive... just comfortable for me. If the shifter is still higher than before after I take off as much of the stock shifter shaft as I can, it might be uncomfortable, lol.

well is it the shaft style? long white platic strip with beads all up it? you can cut thouse down to fit a shift nob... ive never made one where to whole handle shifts it but i did convert one from the front button to a top button pretty easy by just knocking out a couple inches on the shifter itself and the plastic shift rod...just make sure you have it tight otherwise you will be pissed when you cant shift and all it is, is you cant get the knob all the way down

yeah that's exactly what it is, and i know I've already experienced that lol. I didn't have the clip on the auto shifter back before Autorama and we all drove to a guy's house to carpool to Cobo and when I got there, my shifter knob moved up and I didn't realize it and I couldn't put it in park. Then after like a few minutes of freaking out like wtf why won't it park, I realized hey push down on the whole knob then press the button and tada I can shift into park lol.

brian your gonna need to take more than a couple inches off that thing. a passer-by might mistake that for a pet cobra or someting.
