Another way to do it in the winter is put in the garage and use a blow dryer on the hottest setting to warm it. Heat it until you can touch the molding and feel that it's getting hot. Go slow and heat a little at a time as you go and you should be fine.

I've also heard of people pulling the clear off...just depends on the car. I'm cheap to, and didnt want to have it recleared or painted

If you're not going to keep the molding for any reason afterwards, a heat gun is perfect and should help avoid damaging the paint when pulling it off.West Michigan Pontiac Club

a heat gun did not damage my stock moldings. The sun after 22 years did though.
Anyone want them LOL!! Just needs to be scuffed and painted. And new 3m double sided tape put back on.sigpic

I took mine off by prying them with a rubber wedge then just peeling, the residue left behind was easy to take off all you need is goo gone. Whoops very old thread lolsigpic
