They are McCulloch 8000K. They are the perfect brightness. Ive never been hassled for having them. The bulbs for my car are a direct plug in to the stock housing. I didnt have to modify anything to make it work.Originally posted by phoenix_rising View PostWhich make model do you have? I am looking at a set of 8000Ks. Are those too bright? Have you ever been hassled for having HIDs? What housings are you using. I am looking at the Eurolights conversion.

Guest repliedCool. Then that is what I will do. Are 8000Ks too bright? Also would you pay $50 shipped for a used but working set of 8000ks?

Yeah, the thing that is so illegal about them is that people just cut the back end of the housing up, and then RTV the bulb in place. In michigan I don't think that would be a huge deal, but states with inspection I think you might have issues with it.

Guest repliedThats exactly what I was thinking. Would that make it more "legal"? Thanks for the help BTW.

Non-factory HID are illegal in all states. One thing that you could do Ben, buy the sealed beam housings from Eurolamps.com, I got them there and really like them, and then get an HID kit.

The install was easy, plug and play, and they require no modification other than being crafty about the ballast placement. They are street legal, so i've never had a problem with the police.

I did a search for "HID" and nothing turned up. I am just curious who has them and what your experience was. Has anyone had any problems with cops pulling them over for them?Tags: None
