    Rim Question

    Ok well today my friend calls me and tells me he is getting new rims and wants to get rid of his stock 02 WS6 rims and wants to sell them to me. I have really been thinking of getting new rims lately and hes offering them to me for an incredible deal with new tires. Should I buy them and sell off my 16s or wait it out and buy some C5 thin spokes? The rims are a great deal and with new tires, but I plan on running Nittos either way so I'll need new rears, just want some opinions.

    Those WS6 rims are almost identical to my stock ones. I can't tell in your garage what you have now, are they the painted ones?

    I don't care much for the C5 rims personally, but Its up to you. How much of a difference are we talking in price?

      Those ws6 rims are 17s and the ones I have now are stock chrome 16s. As far as price difference I could get the ws6 rims with tires for cheaper than the C5 rims alone.

        These ZR-1s are my other option, would look pretty sweet with some 17X11s out back too.

          I like those a lot better than the C5 but if the price is that good why not get the WS6, put some more money somewhere else you know.

            Get the WS6 wheels, or if its not tooo much more, get the C5s they are awesome on that car.

            Dont get the ZR-1s, they are fugly. (IMO)

              I'm definatly leaning toward the C5 rims. If the WS6 rims were the other years 98-01 then I would do it in a heartbeat but those ones just don't seem to look as good to me. I think I may just buy them and sell them for more since its a good deal, then I can put that money toward the other rims.

                  Well if you bought your friends rims you could sell yours and have basically a free upgrade. The C5s and ZR1s are cool but if you get good ones they are expensive. I just got my ZO6s, it took almost 3 weeks!!! Plus I still don't have the center caps. I think they all look good. WS6 look meaner, more muscular. The C5s are very stylish and sleek but look kind of weak. And the ZR1s are the best of both worlds. Those look very balanced and actually seem to "fit" the car better. Just MO.

                    Dont do it dude, You need a wider wheel period! go with some c5's were you can atleast mount some 295's out back if not 305's

                      Well the widest C5 rims I could fid were 9.5 but now I don't remember where I found them lol I think they were on ebay. That is still only 1/2 inch wider than the WS6 wheels unless I get 18s then I can get them in 10.5 but tires are more expensive and I don't know if I wanna go that big. I'm so torn because I know the 18s like in that pic definatly look the best.

                        the thin spoke C5 rims look really good in that one pic..... also i love the WS6 wheels like my parents WS6 (99) and i really don't like the way those '02 WS6 wheels look right there...but if the WS6 wheels are such a good price how about get the WS6 wheels and then get them widened so you can get some wider rubber out back. i think it's like $150 a wheel or something to get it widened...not too bad. but that's just me! rims are cheap....the tires are what kill ya!

                          Yeah the rims are a good deal but ultimatly I just don't like the look of that year rim. I'm going to sell them for my friend and get a little cash then start saving for something else. If you guys have any good ideas or suggestions for rims feel free to let me know just make it reasonable in price ie. no iforged rims or fiske they are just too much and all I can afford is to drool over them.

                            ever look into some 18" chrome Zo6 rims? i think they look so good on TA's!??

                              Yep I just got mine! Polished Aluminum 18" X9.5" Z06 Replicas. They look real nice but took forever to get here. I'm still waiting on centercaps. When I get them I'll send you the guys contact. I'll also post some pics when I get my camera back.

                              I really like the ADR wheels. I never see them on fbodies but damn do they look good.
