Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

So I got a lot of progress done this weekend on the door panels. Of course, right after I sprayed the adhesive onto the backing that I'm reupholstering with the red vinyl, I ran out of adhesive for the vinyl itself. So, all I have is the passenger side. Still have to figure out exactly what I want to do to mount the reupholstered section back to the door panel, but that should be pretty easy to figure out.
Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm excited now that I got it this far. It was a hard decision for the insert material. Mark sent me a link to a guy that did it with red suede and it looked really nice, and I was also thinking about doing black vinyl to keep it more "low key" now that I've been going back to a less obnoxious interior combination, but the red vinyl just appealed to me too much.. I love the black with red insert look because it reminds me of old custom classics.
Yup, that's actually the plan for the CF panels. I'm trying to go back to a more stock look with slight modifications -- all panels painted black, small red accents [door panel inserts, carpet, leather seat inserts]
Don't have pics to show right now but man I owe my dad a lot! For anyone that's ever reupholstered the door panels, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
The backing that is covered in carpet or leather is a piece of carboard with the carpet/leather wrapped over it. The door panel has plastic tabs that stick up and the cardboard slides over the tabs, then the top of the tabs are melted at the factory which holds the cardboard in place. To reupholster the door panels, you have to cut the melted plastic away and then the cardboard and material pulls right up and off.
My dad spent 2 hours yesterday meticulously cutting slits in the vinyl for each of the tabs, then used JB Weld to epoxy the cardboard back in place over the tabs.
Today, he took off from work so he could work on removing the Camaro door panels and install the Trans Am door panels for me.
