  • T-Top Help, Please...

Ok, I made the plunge and began my t-top conversion a couple weeks ago. I have the metal fabricated, weather stripping fitted on, and the t-tops in place. I have not began the finishing work (fiberglass, bondo, primer, and paint). I did patch up the metal fab work with duct tape for the time being.

I did a small leak test and water just pores through. I was hoping there would be someone near by that has done this conversion that would be willing to come over some weekend and give me some pointers in the finishing work. Please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

The only person I know that has done the conversion is phenomic, but he's on the East side of the state. Can you see where the water is pouring in?

Darn for some reason i thought he was on the west side.

The water stays in the stock water channel near the t-top weather stripping just fine, but when the water gets near the area where the weather stripping meets the side window it just flows down from the inside before it touches the side window weather stripping.

It is probable because i don't have all the finishing work done. I wonder if Pace has any experience with this kind of finishing work. Maybe i will PM him too.

Same issues here too! My factory t-tops don't let water pour in, but they will drip on occassion from a normal garden hose spraying towards it.

Don't be too upset David. Thats the same problem on about 50% of the fbodies with t-tops.

Hopefully i will be able to at least minimize the leak, since right now all the water is just pouring in.

It takes balls to cut off your roof ! Pictures would be cool to see.
I've never done the conversion but if you needed another set of hands I could come from Grand Haven. Where are you in the project now?
