  • Making an auto shift boot fit

I have never had any luck with this, I have one from red line goods, I know a few of you have them and at one time I PM'ed all of you, but never really got anywhere with them.

How do I make this thing fit right? It keeps pulling out of the back when I put it in park.

Yes I know the car is dirty, I worked on the exterior all day, the interior comes tomorrow.

It's a lose lose situation. When I put my car in park, the shift boot slides down the shiter. It's just not long enough for being all the way in park. To get it to stop doing that, I'd probably hot glue it in place.

In hindsight I wish I would have gotten a stick, but hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it.

I think ill try the hot glue tonight.

        Anyone else have any ideas?

I just got done tearing the console apart and I plastered that little bugger with hot glue, and.... it holds! For now anyway, we'll see how long it holds up, but its not being driven until sat. morning so it should at least look good for the M & G.

I would have put the shifter in park so its at the furthers most point and then hot glued it there, that way it shouldn't tug at all when you engage Park.

Yes that deffinetly would have been the smart thing to do, I may tear it apart when I get home from work in a few hours.
