SGS is the v6 camaro version of traction control, it stands for Second Gear Start, it basicially locks the trany out of 1st, always starting you in second, its basicially useless.
Claybaring, I followed the directions on the box really. Worked well. I waxed it just like any other car, just spent a little more time on it than usual. FYI - I used the whole bottle of the the instant detailer (its what they tell you to lubricate the car with) you CANNOT let the area your claying get dry while claying. It will almost instantly scrach the car. Also make sure you keep the clay clean, keep turning and kneeding it, it does a much better job and takes less effort if its kept clean. so do you lubricate it with that little bottle the mothers package came with while the cars dry or can you also use it while your washing and the cars all wet?Comment

Mother says wash it first the competely dry it then lubricate it with what they provide. They also say do not use soapy water.1999 Camaro - 6 liters of fury.....

Just Clayed/Polished/Waxed myself today took about 6 hours to do no big deal...It was a quicky. Pics will be up sunday...she shines!!!! love that NXT wax

Soapy water works best you just cant use a soap that is any form of a degreaser because it will decompose the claybar and it will fall apart... thats the only reason they say that.Originally posted by sman View Post-Joel

Joel, thanks for letting me know, do car wash soaps have degreasers in them? I would guess not, but I figured if anyone knew it would be you,1999 Camaro - 6 liters of fury.....

Most car wash solutions do not have degreasers in them, and if they do they are very mild. Dawn dish soap for example, will strip wax on contact and tear up a clay bar by the time you get halfway around the car.-Joel
