nothin wrong with it, IMO. I've never been able to judge a "riced" FBody 100% on it's looks, too many people think "Oh, it's different, it's rice" and its annoying. Now Suko on the other hand, he was a ricer. He did tons of aftermarket stuff to his Camaro, then slapped z28 badges on it even though it was a 3.4l and then would claim that it was a z28. that's rice.- Brian Meissen

Yeh. With how many FBodies there are concentrated in our area, I love seeing aftermarket mods on our cars, gives a break from seeing the stockers that are same ol' same ol'. Anymore when I see a stock looking Camaro or Firebird, I automatically think it's someone that owns it because it gets them point A to B, not because they're an enthusiast or have any interest in the car itself, which then makes me think they probably aren't taking care of the car like it should be. It's not all the time, but most of the time. Like if I saw Jasen's, just because its Hugger Orange, I know whoever owns it knows their shit cause it's HO... a regular person doesn't say, "Oh I want that in HO..." only an enthusiast does. Of course, if the car was cruising and looked stock but had a healthy roar, that's a different story. But when it comes to looks, ya gotta do something to make it yours and yours alone. Having it look fresh from the factory is nice until you realize how there's hundreds if not thousands of other cars that look identical to yours, and then you realize well gee what's so special about my car.
I see my car and think "Yep, this car is mine and mine alone." The real payoff, though, are times like back at CJ Barrymores... A group of us from SLP pulled into McDonalds while we waited for the rest of the group to get there (Iit was like one of the first times we went to CJ Barrymore's last year on Wednesday instead of going to Wigger Clemens) and these two guys came up and were all "Hey man, You're Meissen, right? I've seen your car on CamaroZ28.com and on CarDomain!" That right there is what it's about for me, when people see me car and recognize it. Rant off.

Yeah, although I did see a chick with a dirty ass HO Camaro 2 years ago one day and I was kinda pissed about it.
Thanks for the confidence in me Brian. You know the thing with mine is I haven't decided what I wanna do. It looks bone stock and if it wasn't for the cat back it would sound it too. My thing is, I'd love to add an aftermarket hood, and I probably will do wheels eventually. But part of me really wants to keep it looking mostly stock so I can have a sleeper. Nothing I like more than surprising somebody as I blow by them.
If things go the way I hope this year, I'm lowering it 2 inches, buying a 3500 stall converter, putting in subframe connectors and throwing a 150 shot of N2O on it. That outta get me so I can run with the big boys till I catch everything else up.
But to each their own, its your car, do what you want. I think Brian's car looks pretty sweet, and I admire him for all the work he has done.

You're getting close. I go by the original Ricer formula - if it's performance oriented, it's not rice, but if it's sacrificing peformance for the sake of appearance, that's the definitive rice.Originally posted by meissennothin wrong with it, IMO. When it comes to people trying to copy ricers by adding appearance mods originated from hardcore ricers, things get more fuzzy. I generally lean towards add weight=less performance.
You indicate you see too many of your car, and you want it to be more in-duh-vidge-u-al, so you change the appearance or presentation. You point out that Hugger Orange is unique enough, doesn't need to be more unique. My Hawk is fairly rare, possible one or 2 others made just like it (haven't found them yet), so I don't have a tremendous urge to mod my car, either appearance-wise or performance-wise. I find people who get a Hawk and then mod it to no longer have Hawk performance, they don't really make sense to me.
