Thats good to know, I'll give that a watch later when im not at work. I like the 50% though so probably going to do that on my truck. I wish i had covered parking for it... leaving it bake out in the sun is the main reason i want to tint that thing. Interior is minty fresh and i want to keep it that way.

I went with 15% on the sides and back of my Camaro, and in hindsight I think that was too dark. Did 35% on my Mazda, and I think that was just about right. Enough to be noticeable and really improve the appearance, without seriously compromising night visibility.

I had 35% side windows and rear when I first did my car. Got a ticket and went with 50% on the sides after that. I used Sunshade in Troy who had a removal & reapply guarantee if you did get a ticket. That's how and why I went lighter. But I have heard and seen great things about Detail Express. Used them when we redid my wife's car a while back. Did 50% sides and 35% rear on her car. I think I still owe Matt a beer from the tint removal before he redid her car. Car was originally from FL so the old tint did NOT come off nicely for him....

Sounds like 35 to 40 is the sweet spot, so I guess we'll see the results 'round about May 11 when it's done!

                  Nah, double 5%.

There was a member on here years back, and I rode with him over to the (very cold that year) Berger show. He had 5% on top of 5%, so it was around 2%, and for all intents and purposes, it was complete opaque at night.

That sounds like a request to get a ticket! Being the car is all black, there's an interior preservation and cooling component as well as the bada$$ looks component, but I don't need any dings to my otherwise fairly pristine driving record.

Besides, I frequently drive at night, and visibility is kinda important to me...

Yeah, we couldn't see jack shit.

And for some reason, cops kept turning around in the medians on the freeway and following us (a convoy of 3 Fbodies - his 3rd gen, Darren's first 3rd gen and Liz's 4th gen). Speed up to 90, slow back down to 70 and drop the side windows down when a cop would turn around to follow us. When we saw them use the median to turn around again, windows and speed back up, and repeat with the next cop.

We must've had 3 or 4 do that.

Will keep you posted -- the car just went to Detail Express yesterday, and they were supposed to start on it today.

I have a feeling that It won't get done until tomorrow -- don't know if I'll have it in time for the James Martin show. But the good news is, they haven't called me with any show-stopper issues (hood paint, dent removal, etc.) yet, so I'm hoping for the best.
