    G-Tech Pro RR for Really Cheap?!?! What do you think?

    Hey guys, really didn't know where to go with this and this seemed like the closest place. Mods please move it if it should be in another place. Anyways, I've been thinking about a G-tech for a while and when doing a search the other night, I found this website.

    You guys think this is legit?? Normally they go for $300 and this is for $170. I'd love to believe it, but am quite hesitant due to never seeing it for less than around $290.

    Bought a G-Tech SS for $90 shipped off eBay.

    It does everything that the RR does except for the extended road course timing.

    Looking forward to trying it out when all this white crap goes away.

              The cool thing about the RR though is that you can connect to a computer and download the data off from it. So you can get the pseudo dyno curves and all of the other information that it records, rather than just knowing the numbers. I think I may pull the trigger on this. Anyone else have any input on the website's or deal's legitimacy?

                The SS model connects via serial cable and is downloadable as well.

                The RR gives you streaming data...the SS is a snapshot in time.

                  Really?!?! I read somewhere online that it wasn't possible, that the software won't work with it. I know that the SS does have the serial port on it, but supposedly it was useless. Can you get all the graphs and such as well?? This changes the situation a little now.

                    Hmmm, I had not read that. Again, I just got it...haven't had time to play with it. But the data on it is static...just snapshots of the data and graphs.

                    But it does have a serial port on the rear.

                    Where did you read that it wasn't operable?

                      I spent a while looking before and these really aren't discussed that much, but the one discussion I did find is here.

                      They say in there that it is basically just a tease. Also here on their website they say that the info on the SS can't be uploaded or used with the PASS software they provide. It's toward the bottom under the "SS Model" questions.

                      Give it a try though, I don't know if there is a way to work around it either though. But the way it looks, the only way to transfer info to a computer is from the RR model.

                        Well I just ordered the RR from the link I posted earlier. Hopefully the price is still valid and they ship it out to me. I'll let you guys know what happens in case anyone else wants to get one for this price.

                          Well, they sent me a bs email today saying they were out of stock and not going to restock them. So the price is bogus, I was really hoping though.
