i found new sealings for this at www.sunroofdoctor.com but they never answer my mail. Somone here helping me get thoose seals?
In a word, you've got some work ahead of you.

C&C tops were bastardized from the beginning and were (as I understand it) hand cut to a template.

There's a couple of companies out there that may help you...Softseal and Metrosoft.

Worse comes to worse, they sell an extruded seal that you trim to length and attach with door seal adhesive.

I'm not guaranteeing that it will work (depends on how twisted your car is...and how exact the C&C guys were to begin with) but it's a start.

I also have new t-top weather strippiing and for some reason there is a space were the top meets the a-pillar area. I have repositioned it a couple times, I got it close, but wouldnt leave it in the rain. They are Fishers.

Good find on the partial build sheet. I have had all my seats out, I am sure its long gone, unless its on top of the gas tank, which I have hear they are placed there sometimes.

Yep, if the body has gotten twisted over the years...fairly common.

Also check underneath the carpet, and sometimes they're stuffed up under the dash.

                  Ah ok.
No i dont think my car is twisted, runs fine on the road and never seen anything pointing to this. but i have the drawings form cars & concept and they put a steel supportplate in the roof so i think it needs much to twist it, such as dragracing and so on. ??? You really making me worried now
that can i do to prevent this, tractionbars? or a cage in the car? tell me!

Floor heatbarrier and some other stuff

Had to weld one of the foots on the frontseat today.
Removed the old noisebarrier and painted some of the small small surfice rust. Then i installed new heatbarrier at the floor.
Strange that the frame for the frontseat can be so rusty nothing else is it...

Nah, I wouldn't worry...if it was twisted you would certainly know it.

These cars essentially have a two piece frame joined together with "knuckle" joints...you can do sub frame connectors, or just have the frame tied if you're concerned about it...but I wouldn't be unless you plan on making 500 lb ft of torque...that will twist faster than Paris Hiulton at an after hours club...especially with the tops off...if you leave the tops on, the twisting is minimized.

Roll cage would certainly eliminate the problem, but is it worth the work involved?

BTW...easy, easy way to fix leaking T-tops on second gens...on the factory T-tops (not sure about the C&C tops), they came with two small tabs on the T-roof that slide into holes/recepticles on the T-tops.

These tabs are what take the twist...you may even see a visual difference in the attitude of the tabs (depending on which side of the car you're looking at, one will be more pointed towards the sky).

Simply take a rubber mallet, and tap the tabs down to be just slightly below horizontal.

If your seals are still good, you most likely eliminated the leak.

I did it to the 81 the second day I bought it 18 years ago, and they've never leaked.

Great pics and story, BTW...keep it coming!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the factory T cars had plastic inserts that went in the holes on the T-tops...these are critical. Many of them have cracked and deteriorated over the years, and missing these inserts will cause the Ts to leak.

Year One sells replacements for $9 or so.
