  • Sound deadener.

I heard about this and want to see what everyone has to say... I read this over in a ford truck forum but figure it may be useful for all cars...

Anyone care to chime in and give opinions on it?

Also available at the building supply store is aluminum covered bubble wrap insulation. It's cheaper than dynamat and works well under the carpet or inside the doors and headliner. Just use strong glue to attach and hear the difference.

umm air is a good heat insulator, not a good sound insulator

Ditto...you want rubber, not air pockets.

ah ok.. i read it on ford-trucks.com when i was reading threw there "tips and tricks" section for 73-79 pick ups. and thought that if it worked would be a hell of a lot cheaper then dynamatt or anything like that.

My dad used that in his street rods for heat insulation. It doesn't do much for sound insulation though.

i install trunk kits from dynamat all the time, my 100% choice, but i know of products cheaper that will work almost as good as dynamat.

I've used "brown bread" or B-quiet and they both worked as good if not better than dynamatt, for half of the price, look on ebay, i remember buying 100 sq.ft. of b-quiet for 125 bucks, that's like the equivalent of 1200 dollars of dynamatt. I used it in my cavalier, and it worked great.
