  • More Rust.

Well anyone who read my other post knows that i was working on removing my interior... Well. I got the whole front out now... I know when you all see it most of you will be like scrap it/junk it/ what ever its to much rust.. But... No.

Lol. Anyway. I found when ripping out my interior $12.75 in quarters alone... not to mention a jaw full of nickles pennies and dimes... So that made me happy.

    Pic one: My floor boards.
Pic two: Whats under my speed limit sign... OUCHY Its a big whole
Pic three: Passenger side.. pretty rust free two quarter size wholes though
Pic four: Passenger rear... pretty clean no threw whole some surface
Pic five: Drivers side is pretty good. Not bad at all...not surface rust.. there was some mold.. Ew. That i had to clean up because the carpet was soaked with water.

This has just turned into an Instant Classic Thread.

Any time you find a speed limit sign serving as a floorboard, now you HAVE to continue to supply pics...not only of the current tear down, but of the progress going forward.

    It must be completed.

Or the Car Gods will curse you forever.

          Lol Nope black...

Sign was from a friends house.... Had a stack of random street signs that his grampa had in his basement and wanted to get rid of them.. So sent them my way.... so i took the one that fit best out o fmy pile and put it on my floor. I knew it was there all along because i put it there. I just had no time to fix anything so put it there so i wouldn't have a problem falling through... However that was over a year ago... The whole has gotten much larger sense then... It was originally about the size of to fists... You cant see in the picture but on the floor is a few chunks of metal....

And i most certainly will fix it. Not fixing it isn't an option i need this car to drive me to Tennessee...Im planning on talking to my teacher about seeing if i can take it to school to start working on it there...

By the way anyone have a gauge sheet metal they would recommend? Also with POR15 can you buy from any local places or do you HAVE to order it offline?. Anyone have any suggestions to a cheaper alternative until i can get money to buy POR15?

                  Jesus H. Christ.

That, sir, is a very, very big hole!

Couldn't you see it from the bottom of the car?

Have fun, my friend. I wish you good luck.

I think it would be better to just buy a new floor pan and welding that in.
Its hard patching a hole that big.
Cut out the bad....weld in the new.
Just make sure you prep it right so it lasts a lot longer this time.

Its up to you, Hawks has full length ones for $249.00
Thats what I would do. I wouldn't mess around. Specially sence the Bodys of the 3rd gens like to twist so much.

Problem is i need to spend my $250 that the floor would cost me On A New fuel pump, Lines, some ignition parts, new radiator....I'm looking in junk yards for a floor pan though thats rust free or just surface rust. If not I'm welding it in my self. I'm also going to be putting in a 3 point SFC to help with the twist.
