Last time I put some type of cleaner in my tank, my car ran like shit (t'was Gumout Complete Fuel System Cleaner).
You put a can of it in the tank, a little in the oil, and a little in the top end. I am not doing the oil because the car has such high mileage and it will leak if I use non synthetic oil (wierd, normally the other way around) so i'm not going to put it in the oil.

it normally does better than that. the record is almost 29 mpg (28.xx cant remember exactly) when i first bought it on the 200 mile highway ride home.

which for having almost 200K on the odometer, is pretty good i'd say

              • Really? I figured youd rig something else up, a small hidden tank somewhere or something. Doesnt someone make a nice polished or stainless one?

                  • yea if the car was nice i would leave it, but its a POS so i'm not really concerned about resale or original equipment etc

I'll have to weigh all the stuff i took off the last couple days.

I would say AT LEAST 50lbs from the engine bay alone...AC system, A.I.R., EGR, a few "unnecessary" brackets etc
