So, I was thinking of doing something to the exterior of my car. I already want black stripes, but after I fix the front end damage from the previous owner, I am going to be looking for something drastic. Which mod do you people think makes the most difference? Ground FX, a SS/Cowl Hood, a bigger spoiler, or anything else. Any mods will be considered. Pics, prices, and where to find the items would also be appreciated.

I think the rims, hood, and gfx make the biggest difference on any car. Do which ever you please or can afford.

My personal tastes would be SS hood, SS spoiler, lowering kit, NO gfx, and nice wheels. To me gfx on a stock ride height car can make the side of the car look too tall.

SS hoods or ramair or big block or any of those look great.

I agree with the gfx statement as I don't like them much either but as far as setting the car apart it definatly does its job. SS hood IMO looks the best and a nice cowl comes in clos second for a LT1. That one pic of the Black car that was posted a while back was probably the best looking LT1 I have ever seen, go for that look!

my choice is plain and simple....subtle changes.... i think someone might offend Brian with the GFx and stock ride height... because as i recall his car is not lowered at all....but the ground Fx give it that look.... i just like cars that sit low to the ground and look tough. on the LT1 style cars... i think the cowl hoods look really good. especially that one that was just posted on SLP's site (nice i think you saw it... cause i think i remember seeing your comment...) anyways...SS or cowl hood and any of the 2 SS spoilers...the 96/7 one or the 98+

Don't worry Matt, it takes a lot to offend me when we're talking about personal opinions here.

As for MY personal opinion, I'd say don't do the SS hood or the SS spoiler. You said "I am going to be looking for something drastic" and being an SS clone isn't drastic in my book, it's just doin the same thing that everyone else does to fit in (no offense to anyone that has bought either the hood or the spoiler). If you do infact want something drastic, get a 4 inch hood, rally stripe from front to back, and do a Freedom Design's Brickyard spoiler on the back. I remember you mentioned you wanted to do like a Tangerine pearl color, didn't you? I'm thinking a nice orange-pearl color with black stripes. Then of course just put some ground effects like the Wings West W-Type kit, lower it a little, and get some nice rims on there... that's your drastic change.

the only thing is i would never lower and have gfx.... do one or the other because you half to think that we live in MI and our roads are screwed.

Thats the exact reason why my car is not lowered. Shawns scrapes on everything...

That pearl orange with Black stripes is gonna look very pimp, stay with that combo. I'm sure just the paint and stripes will be a butt-load of cash although it would be ideal to have it all before painting.

Well, my dad does auto body and paint, so labor's free since I'll be doing most of the work anyway. Thanks detroitmuscle, I am going for the "pimp" look lol. As far as a rear spoiler, I have one in mind, I saw it once before, I think on SLP. It had like 2 spoilers on it, but it was very subtle and not ricy at all. The hood, I was thinking about the one that I commented on SLP about. I don't really want to lower my car, but if I get a decent set of larger wheels and tires, I may do just that. GFX are ok in my book, but I like the true lowered look better. Thanks for your suggestions, and keep them coming!

Another thing- I think I am going to upgrade my headlights all to the composite type that Brian told me about. Only about $176 + shipping, so overall not too bad. Thanks a lot guys!
