Aftermarket steering wheel (means no airbag) or cover.

it might be costly but instead of painting i would just take it to a uphosltery and get it wrapped and stictched the color you want. never seen it done before soo GET CUSTOM

I wouldnt own a air bad anyways...........so go aftermarket......or have it recovered..........vynal paint looks good for a short while then it peels and everything else.......my luck wiht it has left me with a bad taste for it

I painted my interior when I first got the car.and re-did some of it (parts I havnt done yet)..and nothing is chipped or scratched...

I would rather have it stitched up the way I want it, but wouldnt that be costly?

This is from an extremely anel restoration being done on a '72 TA. This thing will be one of the nicest around when finished.
Pages 46 to 49 detail how he did his steering wheel. Perhaps some of his info will help you
