i was in st. joseph over the weekend for labor day with my girlfriends family, doing the beach hotel/jetski deal.
last night, we were walking downtown (copeland, anyone?), and i saw a black or blue 93-97 T/A. at night, from a distance, it looked pretty cool. the foglights were aftermarket bulbs and had a cool color changing look to them similar to projectors. the parking lights were blocked off with something. it had '02 WS6 wheels on it, and looked a bit banged up. it looked like someone put a hammer through the passenger front quarter. anyway, he drove by, and i looked at the tail lights, but something threw me off...in a very good way. he had LED tail lights!
now, they looked to be a stock tail light just modified to house the LED's, and he had two rows of them that spanned the entire length of the housing. it looked REALLY good, but i think i can do it better
. his LED's weren't as bright as they definitely could have been, and it looked like one or two were burned out. now, are these things you can purchase as an entire unit, or did this dude have a great idea? i want to improve on it by getting brighter LED's, and doing three rows like the T/A's of old (and especially the new bandit).
anyone agree, disagree, want to help me tackle this project, have any tips, or know of any additional information?
and now, the side note: DON'T YOU JUST ****ING HATE WHEN YOU TRY TO TALK TO SOMEONE ABOUT THEIR CAR AND THEY ACT LIKE DISINTERESTED *******S?! it really makes me want to fight them. i approached him as cool as possible and was like "hey dude, your tail lights look awesome, where did you get them or how did you make them?" and in a middle european/russian accent, he goes: "um, i dont know, pepboys in chicago or something." and kept walking before i could discuss it any further. what a prick.
any help, though, is greatly appreciated.
