  • Too bright or just right?

Knee bolster's finally done. Granted, the final decision will be my own; figured I'd get an idea of what others are going to say.

The panel is the knee bolster, of course with red carpet. The question is: Do you guys think these shades go together alright? Imagine the entire bottom half of the interior being the bright red and then the darker red of the carpet.

    What do you guys think?

Btw, I took the pic with my webcam, I'll go get my digi and take a real pic.

its kinda hard to tell with the pictures because of the flash, my flash makes paint brighter than what it really is, i dont know about yours tho

but from what ive seen it will look good

please excuse my spelling... i went to a cathlic school.

yeah, what pisses me off the most is how the flash reflected in the pics. This panel is glossy as ****, and the clearcoat is pretty darn good, I'm going to let it cure for a few days and then hand-apply some of my polishes to get it real nice and shiny, then wax it.

Here's some more pics using different lighting styles with the camera. The first two in this post's pictures actually look pretty close to what it looks like in person...

That looks freakin SWEET!... your car is going to look like it's on fire literally!... soo much bright red, it will make your car seem roomier inside too with the brighter colors i would imagine? either way i like it... im sure it'll look even better once everything is in!

Yeah, seeing how the one panel turned out (albiet it was a huge pain in the ass to get it smooth) it's made me really excited. I washed my car today, used dawn soap to prepare for some claybar action, so my car is 100% garage-only right now since there's no wax or anything on the paint to protect it. I want to finish my headliner first, but once the headliner is finished then I'll be gutting the rest of the panels to take care of the painting... I'm also rethinking my backseat, I'm tempted to just get the covers and put the backseat back in, it's been a pain in the ass not being able to cart my two girl friends around and having to either drive with them or take the caddy even if I really want to take my own car instead lol.

Paint looks too bright for carpet in the pics but that just may be the camera. As for the rear seats I opted out of removing them because the weight difference is very minimal and it just looks like crap without them. I say just put them in, they look nicer and can be used for those just in case situations or to bang a chick in the back lol.

i voted they dont go well together, but im not sure, cause i think it might look better than bright red even though they dont match. Id really have to see it in the car to make a final decision.

Hrm, worst part is that I was hoping it'd really go together just because I'm stuck with this carpet.

just wonderin...how are you going to make a big flat roll of carpet fit into your car?? cause of the tunnel bump and shape of the floorboards?... or is there some sort of fancy trick to make it take the shape of what it's in?...cause i saw somewhere this company that made carpet kits for vette's...and they had a mold of the vette's floorboards and such and would literally stamp it to fit perfectly?
