i have noticed since i've been out of HS, i don't get hassled for tint anymore. i have no idea what it is? even the cops that would pull me over in my SS when i was younger don't even bother with me anymore.

it's usually the younger crowd that get pulled over and play dumb and say "i didn't know it was illegal" are the ones that get a ticket. the last few times i've been pulled over, i just tell the cops it's part of what i do, i know it's illegal, i even showed one cop my windshield was tinted as well and he was like "oh"....and i have yet to get a tint ticket in the past 2-3 years really.

then my boss was tinting a building and a local cop saw his car (my boss happened to have his wife's 300 hemi C that day with 35% platinum all around) and the cop told him windshield tint is legal with a doc's note even though we both know it isn't.....just depends on the cop, some are cool, some are dicks and others just plain don't even notice....

well the cop prolly had nothing better to do and I figure my car was a target, I just want to know if there is a way around this and what would happen if I just dont pay it, it looks like I might not even be a MI resident for long but I do have to move back to kalamazoo for a few months to finish up school

Like I said before...I drove a drug dealer looking monte carlo with tinted windows for 3 years and a beater trans am with tinted windows for a couple years, Ive had this car for a year and a half and have been pulled over more than once in each car and have never had a problem with the tint... this pisses me off

well if you don't want to strip it, just pay the ticket. if it's a fix it ticket to my understanding, you just pay the $60 fine or whatever it is, then it just goes on your record. like i've had cops give me them and say "well if you take it off and have it signed, it will be dropped completely but if you just pay the ticket, then it shows up that you have already been ticketed for tinted windows once, and then the next cop comes along to pull you over and see's that and then you could get the 2 point obstructed vision next time"

yeah u leanr to just not bullshit lie to the cops and they tend to be more leanient...like the cop that puleld me over for my tint i told him that i knew it was illegal but it helps me reduce my migrains which is does. and my eye doc won;t even do anything about it so i just said screw it and deal with it. if u don;t act like a jackass while driving and drive like a normal person they tend to leave you alone and not woryr about it
