yea i'm just saying a bright color like that tends to stand out. like my camaro, bright red, i used to get hassled with a decent amount. but shit my old ranger was just a reg. cab short box, it was pewter and had limo over factor tint on the rear, 20% on the sides and 35% on the windshield. then after i ripped the 35% off i put 50% on the windshield. really never messed with other then that. and my buddy's girlfriend that i sold the truck too hasn't had any problems with it either. and then my ram is pewter as well, it's 15% all around with 35% platinum on the windsheild, i never even get so much as a double take or anything when i pass cops, sit in traffic next to them, or get followed....

i think tint stands out the most on red cars, even more than black.
and like matt said trucks dont get profiled that much, which is why i think im gonna have matt go all out on mine when i finally get the chance to head out there

white does look good tinted! I actually wanted to get a white ram but they didn't have any on the lot and i wasn't trying to get complicated
i really wanted a white ram with a 1 piece back window (no slider) that was untinted as dodge did that on some of them for whatever reason, and i was going to take 20% platinum tint and have our Detail Express logo cut with it on a graphics cutter/plotter, then lay the Detail Express Tinted logo and then put 5% over the back of it so that it would have our logo across the back window but still 100% visibility out the back since it would all be tint.....but that went out the window because they don't make them with untinted back windows anymore..... so i just got a small Chrome vinyl graphic made for the corner of one of the back windows...

that's definatly whack, i really don't understand what the reasoning is behind it...the driver and passanger is illegal, so how does doing your windshield make it any more illegal....We run a business to make money, if someone wants to give me money to get their windshield tinted i would never say "well it's illegal so i won't do it" but your driver/passanger is illegal as well but i will do that....although, some places do shitty tint jobs and do back windows in multiple pieces and just try to hide the lines with the defroster lines, it isn't the best but it works. on a windshield there is no place to hide lines. we do it in 1 piece so that could be a possible explanation and they just use the "it's illegal" as a cover up for "well we suck and can't do it right but we won't tell you we suck so we'll just blame it on the law"Originally posted by kammi10 View Postboth the places i went to in gr that have tinted my cars won;t touch my windsheild. kinds pissed me off
every reputable tint shop i know of around here will tint your windshield...1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

I tinted my winter beater with that stuff from kmart or meijer or whatever, it honestly didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would, although I wouldn't suggest using it on your Firebird.

I agree i tinted my old truck with the cheap stuff and as long as you take your time and do it right it doesnt come out half bad. I dont know if it wouldve lasted though because it got totalled a month laterOriginally posted by Nasty Z View PostI tinted my winter beater with that stuff from kmart or meijer or whatever, it honestly didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would, although I wouldn't suggest using it on your Firebird.
