Anybody Tint Windows?

I need the hatch on my 85 Camaro tinted and wanted to know if anybody on here was capable. Just let me know.

yea.... 3rd gen's scare me...they are a hard hatch to tint....never done one...but my friend jason...who used to tint windows at my work (opened his own shop...anyways) a friend of his had or still has? i dunno a red RS camaro. Clean as hell..... he was tell'n me that the hatch window on his buddies car was the hardest f*ing window ever to tint..... a ton of shrinking and stretchin to make it work....but if you give my work a hollar....my boss Todd will probably do it.... i dunno the price...but we usually charge $175 for the back and 2 side windows on a Maro.... being that i'm still learning to tint..... i wouldn't wanna be held responsible lol.... www.detailexpress1.com is my works website....

Ok cool I will check it out, I need to get it done soon, was kinda hopin someone could do it on the side but I think it is gonna be too hard for anybody

yeah.....i would love to do it on the side...but i wouldn't trust myself with that window

I just got mine done for 150 at slims hot rod, they did a real good job. even tho i just have the convt. rear window it proved to be harder then i would have thought b/c as it turns out the glue attaching my back window to the fabric was comeing unglued but in the end i an very happy with the results.

ive done every car up untill this one... the side windows are no problem but that hatch... hell and a half... not only is it oversize from normall tint but the curves and angles you have to do to get it in... then if you have the rear defrost hatch the wires stick out around the sides very hard to make it clean i went through like 4 rolls before i said screw it... so now im waiting on the local tint guy to get around to it... he said 135 for the doors and hatch... ive already wasted that in tint...lol so ill let him try onces it warms up...

yeah we use 36 inch rolls for the rear windows on cars like f-bodies...... and first we shrink it and cut it out on the outside.... then clean the hell outta the inside spray it down and have at it with the squeegy (spellin?)

thats what i used and did...lol i dont know if its mine or all 3rd gens though but its got a huge shoe lace wire running like an inch inside the glass on the left and right... for the defrost.. yeah never try it again... i was going to just rip the wire off and try it because this car will never see a winter again unless its in arizona...lol so i might give it one more shot.. i was so damn close one time, then i just bumped where the wire was ripped it a good 10 inches to the middle so i ripped it off in a bit of heated frenzy... besides the maybe 2 cars i do a year for myself or friends i will never go in the tint buisness, i cant afford enough pot to keep myslef calm for that... ha ha

funny you mention pot....my friend that used to work with me that opened his own shop...HUGE pot head lol...he's always get'n stoned before he tints just for that reason.... calms him down and steadies his hand so he can cut straiter lines
