  • gotta love rotary sanders

So, instead of dropping my axle and painting it like I had planned, I got side tracked on this job. Im re-doing my calipers - in anodized red, my accent color.

so far the progress is as follows:

    what they looked like before:

The above is rustoleum farm tractor red. If you want red calipers - its the perfect shade (regardless of how bad it looks in the pic) and it stuck to the caliper VERY well, I had a hard time getting it off.

    here is my current progress:

metal shavings everywhere (if someone rubs against my car now, they die):

As you can see, the sander found its way up onto some suspension pieces as well...oops I also did the rotor. I will be clear coating the edge as well as the suspension pieces. So... yea. Ive got 6 hours invested into one caliper so far The final product should be damn purty

I started to sand and clean up my calipers while my car was ripped apart with the trans and rear end and stuff... well long story short. it was too cold in my garage. so i think im just gonna buy all new bigger brakes in the spring when i get new rims!!!

if i had the money for that i would definitely go that route, however, i am much more interested in getting my headers on and my custom paint than better brakes. IMO that stockers seemed to have plenty of stopping power then one time i stabbed then at 55ish.

lol the z28(728 to you) has more horsepower so you need bigger brakes to stop faster because of the speed.

yea i remember that. i actually could not keep up, pretty embarassing huh? My driveshaft seems to be off balance, even though I JUST had it balanced before that when i did the clutch swap. I was afraid it was gonna fly apart. thats the other thing i gotta do before spring... *sigh*

thats ok, I couldve taken care of you at the stoplights no problem... i actually raced myself on the way back at that one stoplight that was at the beginning of the highway - that little strip was PERFECT for drag racing. straight, brushed cement, speed limit 70, and no where for cops to sit.
