Camaro Corral at the Woodward Dream Cruise 2016

Hosted by Chevrolet in coordination with the Camaro team, the Camaro Corral at the Woodward Dream Cruise will be back again for 2016!


For many of you this is the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time you've attended the Corral: Plans are essentially the same. We are given the parks along Pleasant Ridge's Municipality / Police Department building and we can fill them up with a bunch of Camaros!!!


This year I will be trying to source at least one food truck vendor to be available at the Corral! More details to follow as they become available.

Has nothing to do with commission members. It goes through city staff

brian I will also mention a lot of it will come down to a city employee volunteering to be the city contact. In years past has been me. But unless there is more organization this year like volunteers to park cars and keep order I don't see it happening. No one has contacted the city to clear use of the parks. I also do know of another event going on in Memorial park this year as well that is already in place, granted it shouldn't effect where we have parked cars in the past. But I won't be stuck running back and forth trying to park cars alone again or taking heat for people who can't follow directions parking in the parks like last year.

I'm pretty sure the city knows - it's all finalized at this point from what I've been told.

Are you talking about Memorial Park in Royal Oak or a different park along Pleasant Ridge?

I'm telling you the city doesn't.

Memorial park is the name in pleasant ridge.

If there isn't workers to park cars and have order in the parks this won't happen.

So I was wrong. Amy was contacted. But Amy hasn't been in the office in 6 weeks. The city manager has not. I spoke with Amy and shared my concerns. She will reach out to Marty.

Thanks - let me know what you find out. I was planning on setting up a food truck vendor to be at the park so if there's any doubt of this happening then we'd need to know soon. I also have ~45 people signed up for parking already as well.

I apologize for my comments being public if you rather have a PM we can take it there.

If you are organizing this you might want to gather up some volunteers. Last year I did not enjoy and I caught way to much flack the Monday after at work. I asked myself why I was catching flack for something I didn't set up. Ask for or enjoy. We will relay to Marty the requirements since they will be changed this year. A city employee has to be present and there are 4 of us (not cops) one recovering from surgery and the other two hating the dream cruise. That leaves me.

Yes i I am sure you do but it's premature when everything isn't final and based on assumptions. Unless Amy didn't tell me everything she said permission hasn't been finalized yet.

Shoot me a PM about what happened last year on Monday when you caught the flak -- I don't remember the parking situation being that bad last year or us having to spend that much time with the parking so I'm not sure what happened.

Definitely a disconnect somewhere between Marty and the city -- it was conveyed to me that we were all set to go. I'll reach out to my contact who works with Marty and see what the deal is.
