Mark your calendars for the weekend of October 22nd and 23rd because we've arranged something very special this year:
This year's color tour is going to be a little different than those in previous years, this year has us traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana.......
We have arranged for WMFC members to view the Firebird collection of Steve Hamilton. Steve is very well known within the Firebird community and lives just east of Indianapolis. He attends many of the annual Firebird events held around the country, some of which, include the Bandit Run, Ban One Atlanta Firebird show, POCI Nationals, Ames Pontiac Nationals, and he hasn't missed a single TA Nationals event since it started 27 years ago.
Steve's collection of Firebirds is extensive and includes every generation produced. It should be quite a sight and most likely a once in a lifetime opportunity to see 75 Firebirds gathered under one roof, owned by one individual.

Steve with a few of his cars at this year’s TA Nationals
Travel plans:
We'll be meeting Saturday morning at the Saugatuck exit (exit 41)on southbound I-196. The plan is to meet at the Shell Gas Station located just off the exit at 7:30am and leave there as a group at 8:00am. From there we'll mostly travel US-31 south thru Indiana, but may make a couple diversions to do some sight-seeing along the way.
We'll be spending Saturday night in the Indy area and going to the Indianapolis MotorSpeedway on Sunday before heading home.
I know this year's Color Tour has more miles to cover than those in the past, but I hope many of you can make it. It's guaranteed to be a good time!!
P.S.-I also hear rumors that it's possible we'll have a few members from the Ohio Firebird Club joining us along the way.

COLOR TOUR UPDATE:
I just got off the phone with the Comfort Suites Hotel in Northeast Indy (Fishers, Indiana), they have arranged for the West Michigan Firebird Club to receive a discounted rate as long as we reserve at least 5 rooms. I reserved our room, a 2 Queen bed Suite which includes a fold out sofa bed, the rate for this type of room assuming we get at least 5 rooms reserved is $84.55 + tax. (We have two rooms already reserved (Cat also reserved a room at the same hotel), only need 3 more.)
Here's the logic I used when booking my room...because of the extra sofa bed we're able to let another member room with us and then split the cost...this should help keep the cost down for all.
The contact info for the Hotel, and again make sure you tell them you're with the West Michigan Firebird Club:
Comfort Suites-Northeast
9760 Crosspoint Blvd Indianapolis, In 46256
(317) 578-1200
We'll be arriving at the hotel on Saturday Oct 22nd and checking out on Sunday Oct 23rd. This hotel is only 8 miles away from the where Steve has his facility that we'll be touring.
