      Jim,

#1976 is a Pewter T-top, 360hp automatic. It's the one that got wrecked on Power Tour, and that Al posted as a member of a Camaro Club in Florida (it's repaired now).

Jim, here is some info I found on the net. This car was sold at BJ in '07.
I do remember Dennis tell me that Hot Rod wanted the least expensive car they could get. So, hardtop and completely stripped this car new was about $36,000 if I remember the conversation right.
I know it has changed hands a few times since then.

          350cid/380hp V8 with a 6-speed.
This is the first of two Berger "Hot Rod" magazine prototype Camaros.
Cover car on September '02 issue.

1 of 37 produced (2 proto-types and 35 others) to commemorate 35 years of Camaro. This is proto-type #1 definitely the most sought after one. It was owned by Hot Rod Magazine, used as a test car and promotional car. It has been featured in Hot Rod Magazine. Also used as a SEMA display car. Edelbrock Inc owned the original 1967 Hot Rod test car and it is it's younger brother. Berger is one of the Super Car Dealers from the sixties and with the help of GMMG and Hot Rod Magazine they produced one "Bad" modern Camaro. Conservatively rated at 380 hp backed by a 6-speed manual transmission and performance upgrades. this car is fully documented, extremely fast and rare.

            Jim,

I left a mesasge with my Brother in Law (Toadqz4 on this site) and asked him to contact the owner of the Pewter HRE in Florida and requested that he get in touch with you.

By the way, did we meet on the Hot Rod Power Tour last year? I was driving the 35th Anniversary LE and was with a fellow club member that was driving his Intimidator Camaro.

We probably met but not sure. I talked to so many people that things get everyone mixed together. Jim

I would think you did, Al. Gib says he met Jim on HRPT last year, and since you too are inseperable, I'll bet you did too.
