  • Help out a fellow Wisconsinite and their forum?

    Hey guys,
I have found a Wisconsin based forum for Camaros (more like fox valley area for now) but it is dead and I think it needs some more traffic. Take a look at this link and see what you think, maybe post something too. http://camaroone.com/forum/index.php

    Hey Derek,

Wow, things are a little slow over there. It looks like a site with potential, though. There needs to be an awareness of the site made amoung Camaro owners in Wisconsin.

Once a couple of members start using the site, and then talk it up where ever they go, it should start to see a little more action. Get a Club and it's members involved.
RIP Doug,You will always be remembered

One thing the owner (are you the owner? wasn't sure, so didn't want to say "you should do") should do is look into buying a domain like "wifbody" or "wisconsinfbody" or something. While that site might be for Wisconsin people, "camaroone.com" doesn't relate to Wisconsin at all aside from the grouping of subforums on the site. Just makes things confusing. Plus, those that go to google and search for Wisconsin FBody probably won't get that site address as a response like they get mifbody.com when they search Michigan FBody.

Another critique, make sure whoever runs the site keeps up on the most up-to-date versions of SMF forums. Being freeware, it's going to be more prone to attack. I ran sites with phpNuke / phpBB and man were those vulnerable... let it get a few versions behind and it was getting hit with tons of script kiddies that found exploits in the software.

Yeah............... But to me it doesn't make SENSE .They come on a Michigan website and ask help ,and for us to post ,BUT yet you have to be a Wisconsin Resident to join ....... Anyway ...Just me 2 Cents...

Hell, they probably didn't read their own TOS. What could happen? I do agree with you though !

Definitely agree with Tony, if I put "you MUST be a MI resident" we wouldn't get as many members. No sense in shooting yourself in the foot.

Thanks for the help, I did not set up this site or make the rules, I have volunteered to help so I could forward your comments to the owner. I really enjoy this site in MI so I thought it would be great to have some of you guys over to the WI side. Thanks again and I will make sure the owner sees your concerns.
